The Trans Mutual Aid Fund is a crucial support pillar for our community, directly providing emergency support in the form of unrestricted microgrants.
These grants can be used for a wide variety of urgent needs facing our local trans community, such as
transportation costs for emigration outside of the United States
legal costs associated with emigration, legal name and gender marker changes, etc
medical costs associated with gender affirming care as access becomes increasingly limited
security costs associated with protection from hate crimes
and other costs associated with simply existing as a transgender person in a society where we are underemployed, underhoused, underinsured, and unprotected.
We practice mutual aid to unite our communities from the bottom up, to support community self-determination especially in times when our institutions are failing us, and to fight the rising tide of fascism in an imperialistic world.
